We know that winter is a difficult time to stay motivated. It’s dark when you leave for work, dark when you come home and cold ALL THE TIME. If, like us, you sometimes struggle to leave your warm bed in the morning, fear not! Your knight in shining armour is here. No, not Chris from accounting…Say hello to our brand-spanking new matcha latte range – matcha mint, matcha turmeric, matcha cocoa and matcha chai!

Our organic matcha contains ten times the antioxidants than a normal cup of green tea and only half the caffeine of coffee. It also contains a special amino acid, L-theanine, which works with matcha’s natural caffeine to give a steady release of energy throughout the day – unlike the rapid energy burst and inevitable crash of a coffee high. This is why Buddhist monks have used matcha as a source of calm, focused energy during meditation for hundreds of years.

This winter, why not try a week of replacing your morning coffee with a nutritious matcha latte? They’re rich, warming and incredibly easy to make. You’ll be springing out of bed in no time! Check out our simple how-to guide and some of our favourite flavour combinations below.

How to make a matcha latte:

  1. Pour 1 sachet of matcha into your mug.
  2. Make about 250ml of hot, frothy milk.
  3. Add a splash of this milk to your mug and whisk until the matcha is smooth and there are no clumps.
  4. Top with the rest of the frothy milk.
  5. Smile smugly and give a knowing nod to your co-workers. You da bomb.

Matcha chai with almond milk

We mixed our organic matcha with our signature chai spices to create this deliciously warming latte. The almond milk gives it a smooth texture and rich, nutty undertones that complement the warming spices. To take your latte to the next level, dust with powdered cinnamon and serve with a cinnamon stick.

Matcha turmeric with coconut milk

Turmeric has a range of incredible health benefits and is currently doing the rounds as the trendiest spice around. Coconut milk complements the rich, earthy taste of the turmeric, rounding it off so that it’s not too strong. If you’re a big coconut fan, top your latte with coconut flakes or eat alongside a bounty bar (treat yo’self)

Matcha cocoa with hazelnut milk

Our matcha cocoa is delightfully indulgent. Despite the rich, chocolatey taste, this blend contains NO SUGAR WHATSOEVER and the same number of calories as all our other flavours (only 7, excluding milk!) It pairs perfectly with hazelnut to make creamy, chocolatey, nutty goodness. If you want a guilt-free treat, grate some dark chocolate over the top. Enjoy!
