Well liquorice, for a start, which has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine, is hugely popular with the Dutch and tastes so much better with peppermint than sherbet dips. Which is why, we've blended pure liquorice root with whole peppermint leaves to create a naturally sweet and refreshing drink that is irresistibly moreish, if I say so myself.

Louise Says

how does it taste?

Sweet, liquorice, mint and sweet again.

good if you're feeling

In need of a super comforting, guilt-free, sweet treat.

*this tea contains liquorice root - people with hypertension should avoid excessive consumption.*

How we like it

Infuse for a full 3 minutes - the longer you leave this blend the sweeter it gets.

Iced
Just cover one tea temple with boiling water and infuse for 3 minutes. Remove temple and top-up glass with iced water. Garnish with lemon and lime.

Brew Time

  • tea temple - 1 per person. Infuse in boiling water. Brew for 3+ minutes.
  • loose tea - 2 rounded teaspoonful per person. Brew for 3+ minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to brew, but the little wait is definitely worth it.

THIS TEA IS CRAZY

“THIS TEA IS CRAZY”

unique

* * * * * by Diana • 26th July 2016

“One of my favorite teas! It's a perfect sweet treat and great for night time sipping because it has no caffeine. Didn't think I was a fan of licorice, but this tea changed my mind. The mint adds a nice touch. Give it a try if you have not yet, it's definitely worth a sample!”

delicious

* * * * * by Fabia • 21st July 2016

“As many other reviewers have mentioned, this tea needs no sugar at all! The flavor of the tea is difficult to describe but, to me, it tastes like chamomile tea at first but when you swallow the tea and it hits the back of your throat you taste the intense sweetness of it. I had never had tea like this one before. It is certainly unique!”

So Delicious

* * * * * by Amanda • 25th March 2016

“Amazingly delicious. I was hesitant to try because I'm not a fan of black licorice, but of course, this is JUST licorice root (very good quality) without all the other flavorings. It's seriously good. So flavorful and has that slippery sweetness that hits the tongue after the liquid is swallowed... that sounded REALLY weird, but I feel it's an accurate description of the experience of drinking this tea.”

super fan

* * * * * by Marie • 3rd February 2016

“While visiting my brother in England, I fell in love with this tea. It's naturally sweet! I didn't have to add any honey. So once I got back to the US, I ordered a 50 pack and a beautiful glass container so I could display it on my desk at work.”

So delicious!

“I have never tasted a tea so delicious. I first tried it at the NY Coffee Festival, and I just ordered more! This is the perfect late night substitute if you have a sweet tooth like me :)”

Amazing!

* * * * * by Katie • 30th December 2015

“I generally find the flavor of both mint and liquorice tea to be too harsh/strong, but the pairing of the two together is absolutely brilliant! The sweetness of the liquorice cuts down on the harshness of the mint. LOVE LOVE LOVE this tea.”

AMAZING!

* * * * * by Kristina Pizano • 25th September 2015

“I received a sample of this tea in my monthly birchbox subscription. I recently cracked it open and I was so amazed by this tea! It's super pepperminty, and has a sweetness that you don't taste on your tongue, but it hits you in the back of your throat. It's hard to explain but trust me, you will LOVE this tea! I just ordered the big one and will have to make sure this is in stock at all times!!”

Hooked!

AMAZING - I'm addicted!

Never had a tea quite like this

* * * * * by Michelle Ng • 17th April 2015

“This is a crazy tea. There's so much flavor packed into each little bag that I ended up opening up a couple of bags and using it as loose leaf because it was a little too much for one cup. I love how it's naturally sweet and curves my craving for sweets in the middle of the night. The flavor is just so unique-- i've never had anything like it. I bought some for myself and some for the office and everyone is cray cray about it.”

Wow!

* * * * * by Yiran • 10th April 2015

“I never would have thought that I would like this tea (especially since I hate liquorice), but I do!”

what a surprise!!!

* * * * * by Lorena • 10th April 2015

“I never expected to like a tea SO much. It has been my choice of tea everyday since I got it... perfect licorice flavour, rich and sweet. Perfection in one little cup.”

It was Ok

* * * - - by Lizzy R-E • 10th April 2015

“I got this as part of the sampler, and found it just ok. It was a LOT sweeter than other similar teas I've had, and just not to my liking.

Then again, aside from cold season when I add honey to my tea I'm not a sweet tea drinker unless I'm specifically craving a fruit tea.”

Pure Bliss!

* * * * * by Daniela • 9th April 2015

“This tea is so delicious! It's a wonderful mint tea with a surprising sweet finish. You do not need to add any sugar - it's wonderful all on it's own. The flavor is so unique - I've never had anything else like it. A must try!”

Absolutely Wonderful

* * * * * by Millie • 9th April 2015

“Truth be told, I was very hesitant to try this tea as I am no fan of licorice. But, this tea is delicious! A perfect mixture of ingredients, this tea does not disappoint.”

BEST TEA I'VE EVER HAD

* * * * * by Desiree • 8th April 2015

“I discovered this tea on YOUTUBE on Essie Button… At first I thought licorice eww but then the way Essie described it changed my mind. I went and purchased RIGHT AWAY from Whole Foods. Now I can't live with out it! Its simply naturally sweet without adding any sugar”

delightful surprise

* * * * - by Eva • 7th April 2015

“I had no idea what this would taste like when I bought it in a sampler pack and it turned out to be such a delightful surprise. First taste: slight minty, green tea. Aftertaste (which was the real delight): sweet, cool peppermint. I usually need to put some sugar in my tea to bring out some flavor and found absolutely no need to do it with this.”

My perfect cup of tea

* * * * * by Stella • 7th April 2015

“When I read the product description I thought it was too good to be true. When I had my first cup, I promptly put down the twizzler I was gnawing on because this tea is an even sweeter (an infinitely better) after dinner treat. This tea is my go-to pick me up. It's great after any meal and smells wonderful. Even my non-tea-drinking (except when sick) boyfriend drinks this regularly...resulting in my purchasing a huge box without hesitation. As previous reviewers have said, it's the aftertaste that brings on the sweetness, which means at the front of every sip you get a wonderful peppermint flavor that isn't too strong and slowly dissolves into gooey licorice goodness. If you're hesitating over this tea and have any semblance of a sweet tooth or love for licorice, just buy it. Stop reading.”

Incredible

* * * * * by Emily • 6th April 2015

“Unlike any tea you've tasted before! This is a wonderful and unique blend that needs no additional sweeter. A must try!”

Love it!

* * * * * by Patty • 6th April 2015

“Given to me as a gift from a friend at Christmas...I'm not a licorice fan, however I am hooked on this tea!! Great flavor.”

Curiously amazing!

* * * * * by Mel B • 5th April 2015

“I got a free sachet of this tea with another purchase & I (foolishly) gave it to my husband because I don't like peppermint or licorice. But this tea is amazing! It doesn't have either of the components strong flavors that make it off-putting (to me) and it is truly a synergistic tea.”

Absolutely love it!

* * * * * by Zara • 5th April 2015

“I first heard of Teapigs Liquorice and Mint from a couple people I watch on YouTube, and since I love both flavors but had never had them in tea, I was eager to give it a try. I got some in a sample box, and while I had intended to wait until all my samples were gone to buy any full boxes....I'm not sure I can wait for more Liquorice and Mint! It's the perfect mix of sweet and minty fresh, and I can't get enough.”

Just sweet enough

* * * * * by Emily Lauderdale • 4th April 2015

“Such a great after dinner tea. It's just sweet enough but not too sickly sweet. Love it.”

Sweet but not too sweet

* * * * * by Sarah • 4th April 2015

“I love this tea! It really is sweet enough to take the place of something like candy for dessert, but it's also not overly sweet...if that makes any sense. I really love it and don't ever want to be without it! I crave it!”

Surprise

Just plain amazing!

* * * * * by Kristen • 3rd April 2015

“I recently purchased some teas after watching Esssiebutton's favorite teas video. I never enjoyed eating licorice but oh god this tea is amazing. I have made my friends try it and they think the same. Even if you don't like eating a piece of licorice, try this it will change the way you feel about licorice for sure.”

Amazing tea!

* * * * * by Nancy Graham • 2nd April 2015

“I received a sample of this tea in my monthly Birchbox. I'm a bit of a tea afficiando, having quit coffee in 2008.

I was blown away at the quality of the tea and this particular flavor. I was worried the mint or licorice might be too overpowering, but it is not at all. In fact, this tea is so easy to sip and needs no sweetener at all.

While enjoying my sample, I went to teapig's mobile site and ordered this flavor and another. and they arrived in a few days. I found it very easy to use their site and have been very happy to discover this brand.

I highly recommend you try this flavor, you'll be glad you did!”

Amazing!

* * * * * by Jocelyn • 2nd April 2015

“I received a sample of this in my Birch Box, and I wasn't sure what I'd think because I don't really like licorice, but after one cup I was addicted! I was never much of a tea drinker before I tried this, and I've already ordered two boxes. It's kind of weird, you don't get the full flavor until you swallow it, but it is just the right amount of sweet and completely delicious!”

All the sweetest and zero the guilt!

* * * * * by Y Hung • 2nd April 2015

“As I recently said to a friend, I can't stand licorice except in one thing---this licorice and peppermint tea! I have been a fan for quite sometime and was even trying to order it from the UK before this US site was up and running. I personally add more water after the first cup and really enjoy the subtle sweetness at the second steeping. This is my go-to tea at the office and during this entire winter.”

“I wasn't sure how I was going to get on with this tea, given that I'm not a huge licorice fan, but it has a really unique and delicious flavor. I only steep it for 2-3 minutes so that the licorice isn't overly sweet. My favorite thing about this tea is that it's perfect to drink without adding any milk or sugar. Highly recommend to try!”

I love the pleasant and strong peppermint smell and taste, but when you've already swallowed the aftertaste is just amazing and sweet and your mouth will feel cool and tingly! A great tea experience! I like the flavor but there is a strange taste that is like artificial sweeteners.”

Thanks teapigs.

I have now got all my family hooked on the stuff!”

Too sweet for me!

“Really thought I was going to like this- until the super sweet after taste hit me! Shame as I know it's a lot of people's favourite but I just can't get over the sweetness, I had to come on here and check there wasn't any sugar in there! It's a little better once it's cooled down. Impressive strength of flavour though.”

Just sweet enough

* * * * * by Kayleigh Thomas • 1st September 2013

“This is my favourite of the range so far. I find that letting the water cool slightly improves the flavour - it stops the peppermint tasting bitter. I like the tea quite strong but it can often last 2 cups. I really like the way the peppermint hits your mouth but that the sweet liquorice taste comes through afterwards. It has really helped me curb my snacking during the day as I tend to get a sweet craving during the work day. Can't wait to order the 50 box next.”

Cleared my skin and also any tummy troubles

* * * * * by Eve Jessett • 25th August 2013

“I found this tea by accident. I gave up caffeine and found I was dairy intolerant so had to switch to herbal teas. Initially I was drinking Pukka Liquorice and Mint, but it wasn't great, and they irritated me with their spelling ;-)

I bought the Teapig range in a local supermarket and have been hooked ever since. I think I'm on order number 3 now and can't get enough of it.

My skin is definitely clearer (probably down to the extra water intake) and I've found that if I have any tummy trouble (from consuming dairy or gluten) then a quick cup of tea settles me straight down.

I won't be drinking anything else, I take this tea with me everywhere - there's always a couple of temples in my handbags, on my desk and even in the car!

I like the fact that its quite a strong flavour, its not wishy washy at all, it packs a punch and one tea temple easily does 2 cups if you're worried about the price!”

best licquorice-mint tea I've found

* * * * * by Sarah • 17th July 2013

“I discovered a rival's (Lipton) licquorice-mint tea in France and had been drinking that - importing it myself when going on hols or ordering over web. Teapigs is in a different category all together. I am a convert to Teapigs and now ordering industrial quantities to feed my healthy habit. If you want something refreshing, delicious and different - try Teapigs licquorice and mint.”

Absolutely delicious

“Really wasn't sure what to expect - Teapigs has some very strange flavours! But this is so tasty, definitely a sweet treat that lurks on your tongue for a good while. I recommend leaving it a while before swallowing, then the taste stays longer. Will certainly have it again.”

Has replaced my addiction to coffee!

* * * * * by Sandie Bradley • 2nd July 2013

“I used to drink four or five cups of coffee a day and craved my coffee fix but since trying this tea I haven't drunk a cup of coffee in days!
This is my favourite hot drink now. Every time the kettle goes on, this is what I'm reaching for!

It is a beautiful, refreshing drink. The mint isn't quite as strong as Teapig's Pure Peppermint tea but still has that lovely clean taste...... and then the sweetness of the licorice hits you! It is like having four teaspoons of sugar added, but nicer, and much better for you! I don't know how but it has a kind of creamy, decadent taste to it too, but what I love best is the lovely sweetness you get at the end of every sip! I'm watching my weight at the moment and this is a beautiful substitute for any other hot drink that may be laden with calories as it is only one calorie a cup, and it certainly kills any sweet cravings I may have had!
I just bought my first box of fifty bags after my initial fifteen bag box, and I'm sure I'll be making plenty more orders for fifty bags of this gorgeous tea!

I'm addicted!!”

Disappointing

“I have tried this tea, and have realized that it is fully copied from a different brand: Duphil!
This company had this product in their portfolio for a few years now.
I've always thought teapigs is an innovative brand, that creates new flavors, but am now aware that this and a few other flavors are just taken from other producers.. I am very disappointed!!”

Perfect for sweet tooth cravings

* * * - - by Miriam Nicholson • 21st June 2013

“Brand: Teapigs

Name: Liquorice and Peppermint

Type: Herbal “Sweet Treat”

Packaging: “Tea Temple” Pyramid silk teabag

Taste: I love peppermint tea and this has a weak taste when you take a sip, with the mint coming through as soon as you swallow, not overpowering but enough to leave a cool, refreshed feeling and taste in your mouth (it’s a dual purpose breath fresher!) followed through with the extra sweet warming liquorice taste at the back of the mouth. The liquorice is not overpowering (I don't like most black liquorice) but gives that warm aniseed-y taste that is a very elegant, adult sweetness compared to other hot sweet drinks like "milo".

Rating: 3 Stars

Value: NZ$2.40 for 2 sample bags - $1.20 each. For a 15 teabag box it is NZ$0.60 per teabag and for a 50 teabag box its NZ$0.46 (approx. cost based on exchange rates, does not factor in shipping cost)

I personally value tea highly, but Teapigs is expensive if you live in NZ due to the shipping cost – however, I try every peppermint tea I come across and none even comes close to the SPARKLE that is Teapigs peppermint tea so I am, and always will be a devotee! I will endeavour to review teas from all price ranges and compare the value for money of them. For me, tea is my indulgence, my luxury and relaxation time –for me, moments of happiness are priceless.

Available: Teapigs Website: http://www.teapigs.co.uk/tea/guilt_free_sweet_treats/liquorice_and_mint.htm

Comments: This is the second time I have tried this tea, having purchased the 2 tea bag sampler from Teapigs. One bag is good for 2-3 cups of tea. Which is reasonably good value for a sample. I love samples – it means I don’t end up with heaps of tins of tea that I may not like, I get to try something new and it’s like Christmas – more flavours to expand my palate and knowledge.

I didn’t like this at first. So much so that it has taken me nearly a year to try the second one again! It was this article that prompted me to do so - http://www.prattys.co.nz/tea/licorice-tea-for-stress-relief/ it is worth the read (I have over 40 samples of Pratty’s tea coming in the post – will update you with reviews soon!). Anything that can claim to be a stress reducer, anti-inflammatory, weight loss and a digestive aid is something I have to try as I suffer from IBS and anxiety. It is very sweet – and definitely satisfying for someone who used to eat chocolate daily! It did put me in a happy mood (but I was having a good day already) and I tried the last cup iced as Teapigs suggests on their website – it was just as delicious and the peppermint was brought out and was more refreshing and cooling with the temperature change.

I would recommend this is you have a sweet tooth, as for being a digestive aid, I would have to use it more frequently than once to gauge its effectiveness. Teapigs peppermint tea is my “cure all, magical, can’t live without it” tea. I carry this everywhere – actually, it’s in my handbag. It soothes the bowls, digestive system, calms painful cramping and red splotchy inflammation of the skin which is a result of IBS and Stress. I will review this but it is SPECTACULAR.

How: I am currently not overly “scientific” with my approach to brewing tea (similar to “Grandpa Style” - http://www.marshaln.com/whats-grandpa-style/) I usually enjoy a cup of tea as a pick me up during the day or to reduce my cravings to satisfy my sweet tooth! I usually, and in this review, put the tea bag in the cup, put in 1/5 cold water, pour over boiling water and then refill with hot water several times until I have had 2-3 cups of tea and have gotten the best value and enjoyment I can from my tea. I prefer to add cold water first as it is a better temperature to brew tea at, it gives more flavour and it is drinkable right away! I leave the teabag in the cup the entire time as I like a strong flavour. This is also because I usually don’t like to leave it on a dish at work to wait for me to finish my cup and re-steel it because a) it looks odd having a soggy teabag on a plate b) it usually gets thrown out by someone c) its extra work – I’m all about tea being easy and relaxing. To make the iced tea I let it cool and added ice to my cup – obviously there are better ways to make iced tea to appreciate it more, but by the glass at work this is an effective, hassle free method.”

A lovely little twist

“I have just brewed my first cup of this delicious tea, I am still sipping away on it as I write the review. It is a wonderful twist on the usual peppermint tea, the liquorice isn't overpowering but it adds a tasty little sweet kick at the end of every sip. Can't wait to try it iced.”

“Hate herbal teas, but, needed alternative to caffeine. This was recommended to me, and I am happy to honestly say I was very suspicious. 1) I don't like liquorice 2) as mentioned I hate herbal tea.
This is different, it's comforting and has a lovely minty sweet after taste. Thank goodness someone can make flavoured tea that actually tastes nice and not like warm pond water!! Thanks Teapigs!”

Quite simply the best herbal tea ever

* * * * * by Joshua Silver • 8th March 2013

“My wife bought these as something to try. I generally like liquorice. Peppermint tea is OK. But this combination makes the perfect herbal tea. The liquorice adds sweetness as if this was peppermint tea with sugar, but there are calories or aftertaste of artificial sweetners. The other thing is that this is genuinely nice both hot and cold. Just brilliant.”

“Had this as a taster with my main order of chamomile tea and promptly flung it to the back of the cupboard thinking I'd never like such an awful sounding combination, however, curiosity got the better of me and I finally made a cup fully expecting to tip it straight down the sink, how wrong was I. This was absolutely gorgeous and I would now highly recommend to anyone whose willing to go against the natural assumption that liquorice has no place in a tea cup to just try it, you'll be pleasantly and refreshingly surprised.”

“I usually hate sweet drinks of any kind and pretty much stick to black coffee, but I absolutely adore this tea.

The mintyness is just right - not too overpowering - and then the liquorice comes through, leaving a delicate minty-sweet aftertaste...It works so well together.

It's actually pretty hard to describe and judging from the other reviews, it's not the same for everyone.

I wasn't intending on re-purchasing any teas from here so soon, but my pack's running low and I don't think I can go many days without this tea anyone!”

“I love my cup of tea (or coffee, I'm a sucker for both) in the morning. I usually stick to a plain old brew but this tea is amazing and has totally taken over from my normal tea! First off, I don't need any milk or sugar. That is an amazing feat because I'm renowned for how much sugar I put in my drinks. Secondly, I'm not even a fan of liquorice, or peppermint for that matter, but I will happily drink this. Its taste and the experience of drinking this is intoxicating. It's like being in my favourite book, I just want to stay in that warm cozy place.”

“This is the best tea I have ever tasted!
Bought it by coincidence on a trip to London and been hooked ever since. It's incredible rich in taste, and doesn't smell good and taste bitter and bad like other teas. You need no sugar or sweetener at all, I actually think that would ruin the tea. Especially good when you want something sweet after dinner.
Unfortunately nobody sell it in Norway where I live so I hope they never stop selling it online. Try it, you will love it!”

Ive always like the smell of herbal teas but then when Ive tasted them its felt liek dishwater. Then on holiday in morrocco I discovered mint tea. I could tolerate this (Mainly due to the collosal amount of sugar its served with. I tried mint teas in the Uk and teapigs was the collest I found to the yummy freshness of morrocon mint.. but then by chance stumbled on this beauty. No longer do i need to feel guilty as the slight sweet edge means I don't need to add sugar and the mint is refreshing. Ive had it hot and iced and both are superb. Thank you teapigs!”

I love the sweet taste of this tea, which could easily be over powering from the rich liquorice if it wasn't for the perfect cooling of the mint. I find it a smashing brew - warming in the winter and refreshing in the summer (when we get one!!)

Highly recommended if you want something sweet with some body to it, and are wanting something different to the usual fruity flavours.

“In my last order from Teapigs I had a sample tea temple of this.

I'm a big lover of liquorice and it didn't actually click for me that this would actually refer to liquorice root, call me slow but I was think about classic candy shop liquorice and mint imperials, I thought this was going to be a vile concotion.

I don't think I could have been more wrong if I'd tried, usually I'm one to heap my tea full of sugar and honey but this doesn't need any of that tat. The mint is smooth and fine like it's fresh picked out of the garden and it blends perfectly into the liquorice that gives it an amazing sweet burst at the end. Absolutely delicious, they're now definitely on my wishlist, Teapigs you bunch of teases!”

Taste palette: Initially light & refreshingly Mint with sweet subtle tones, but here is the twist, upon swallowing the roof of ones mouth is enveloped in a liquorice "layer" which stays present but so flavoursomely addictive urges me on to take another sip & repeat the whole process over!

“All my friends in Ghana love this one, so need to stock up before I go back there. So refreshing for the hot days but also warming for the colder days and very soothing if you have a sore throat. Can be drunk hot or cold. If you like liquorice, you'll love this tea.”

Best tea ever...FACT! :)

“This is THE best tea I have ever had. I drink a lot of hot water and herbal teas (and I also love Yerba Mate), so I have tried many varieties. Don't know where I would be without it! :)”

TPig anyone?

* * * * * by Val Clayton • 27th April 2012

“Best tea ever, anytime. I have avoided tea as it always seems like a waste of money. Why spoil the water? was my attitude. Not anymore. I am a fully addicted P&L Tpig drinker and proud of it!”

Ditto to the above!!!

“I was introduced to this tea by a friend. I wasn't looking forward to it and expectation wasn't high. I absolutely love it!!! I love liquorice and peppermint and this tea is just yummie. One bag will make two good cups. Got to be tried.”

Oh Tea, my piggy, you're great!

“My mom just returned from UK and she bought a pack of Liquorice and mint, normaly i wouln't like liquorice but this is absolutely great, sweet and I'm actually jealous of her colleagues because she bought one and only pack for them and now I came and saw a new tea and had a first drank and IT IS A GREAT, GREAT TEA! You have to try it! :)
Right now drinking the swcong cup and really really want to try other flavours! <3 (:”

“I'm off the 'builders' (caffeine)and have been drinking peppermint tea and getting a little bored. Then discovered this in a tea shop in Suffolk. . . I didn't even know you could get licorice tea! Absolutely gorgeous... mmmmmmmmmmm!”

“IMO this is the best herbal drink I've had for yonks - so refreshing. Found it by accident a local cafe when trying to find something to settle tum during chemo treatment. Intend to try other flavours but really rate this one.”

Very Sweet

* * * * - by Ines • 9th April 2012

“Great tea to drink throught the whole day since it is caffeine free. 1 teabag per cup is a little too much in my opinion as this tea is really sweet. I use two tea temples for 1 Litre of water and already have to dilute it a bit. I will try to drink it cold, perhaps the sweetness won't be so strong. Overall very good.”

Sweet!

“I have just received my first box in the post and cannot believe how wonderful this tea is. The taste is like nothing I have ever had before, sort of fresh then sweet.

If you are not sure whether to try this or not then do, it's amazing!”

“I've never tasted any tea as good as this, not even the peppermint leaves in my garden which I've raved about for years. I'm as happy sitting down with a pot of this as I am with a glass of wine. Put simply, its excellent!”

Just don't.

* - - - - by Lynne • 6th March 2012

“It was so promising - I like peppermint and I like liquorice. But this tea....is rank. Do yourself a favour and choose something else from the great range. It's putrid!”

I have converted my family to herbal teas with this one!

* * * * * by Gearoid Keane • 28th February 2012

“As an Irish person, from an Irish family, tea has always been a huge part of life. My family generally only drink breakfast and black teas. In the last few years I have fallen in love with all the different types of teas, and I must say this is almost definitely my favourite. The rest of my family have tasted it and love it too!! I think I will probably need to be ordering more soon, as 50 tea temples won't last long in this house!”

Perfect for me!

“As a person with a sweet-tooth trying to loose some weight this tea is perfect for me. Instead of a Coke in the afternoon I just drink a cup of this wonderful tea. It wakes me up and stills my need for sugar. Great! Martin from Sweden.”

“Mmm Liqourice and Peppermint Teapigs are my indulgent treat. They are lovely, tasty, warm and yummy. They are a treat for me due to the cost, but my hint: You can normally get two cups out of one teabag - just the second is a little bit weaker ;o)”

Surprisingly delicious!

“I was actually pleasantly surprised by how flavourable this tea is! It's my first tea pig purchase and now wish I had bought more flavours. Delicious with a nice aftertaste, a nice treat as it is sweet. Love it :)”

“I have found liquid heaven....no need for sugar, a double full bodied whammy on the taste buds - refreshing mint and then the sucker punch - liquorice. A genius combination and you'd have to fight me to get my box of L&M teapigs off me....”

We have a winner!!!

“I have been desperate to taste this tea so ordered it in a mix and match box. I kept hoping for a sample with other orders but I kept getting moa feng..well the wait was worth it what an utterly amazing tea..no sugar is needed which is fab,when you first drink it you get a subtle mint taste but as it goes down your throat it s like a gentle liquid liquorice taste..two of my most favourite flavours married beautifully in a warming gorgeous drink. Excellent work tea pigs you are amazing”

“When they mention sweet twice in the description they really mean it! Perhaps if you go for two-three sugars in your cuppa then this is the tea for you.

Also where is the liquorice flavour? It doesn't taste of it at all, very disappointed with Teapigs.”

“Having been introduced to this tea by a colleague, I thought it would be just the thing for my liquorice obsessed mum. So I took a pack as a treat at Christmas, only for my dad to completely hijack it. He's trying to be dairy-free at the moment and the unexpected creamy yumminess of L&M may now be a permanent, first choice not a substitute. Congratulations Teapigs, two more fans!”

I found that when I was drinking it, I could instantly taste the mint and then once you swallowed, the liquorice would burst in the back of your throat. It was a weird sensation at first but I LOVE this tea and will definitely be buying some more and recommending everyone I know to buy it too :)”

It is of course personal preference and others could find this tea delicious but it's definitely not for someone who doesn't like things SUPER sweet. Sorry teapigs! Love all the others though!”

“Have had a 2 temple trial pack of these in the cupboard for a while now, just hadn't got round to trying them!
I have a horrible barking cough at the moment, which is tiring me out and making my throat/chest really sore and burning.
I read online earlier that Liquorice and Peppermint are both great for coughs, so i thought perfect time to try the tea then!
Oh my it is so delicious, sweet, refreshing and very soothing :o) A winner!
It's looking like teapigs can do no wrong!”

It's like a taste explosion in my mouth!!! :)

“This is my most favourite tea EVER!!!! Everything about this tea i love. It has the right amount of minty which is followed by a surge of sweet liquorice which is devine.
It helps settle my tummy after eating and also I find if i drink enough of it the taste lingers, giving me a sweet/fresh taste in my mouth for most of the day. :) Love it!!”

Liqourice and Mint

* * * * * by • 8th February 2011

“I've been a herbal tea fan for many years...but I cannot stress enough how any previous brands I've used do not compare to tea pigs.

I love all the teapigs flavours I have tried but my current beau is liquorice and mint. It satisfies my post- christmas, sugar cravings in an instant, with just enough sweetness from the liquorice combined with the digestion soothing peppermint. Amazing!”

Unique and Rich in Flavor

“An amazing fragrance. A vibrant flavor. It's too sweet for me to consider it a favorite, but recommend it to those who don't mind their herbal teas sweetened by anis. (This one is sweetened by liquorice root.)”

I keep telling my friends about your products- now I'm going to try the lemon and ginger and buy a bigger box of the liqourice and mint.”

“I found tea pigs a year ago when looking for a gift for my 'real tea' obsessed Mum, back for more I decided to buy myself a little treat as I used to drink liquorice and mint tea years ago, this is without doubt the nicest liquorice and mint tea I've ever had! No more powdery after taste, no more wishy washy flavours, just honest, clean, fresh and deliciously intense flavour in a mug.... I love it ...thank you Teapigs you have another convert.”

It has a lovely sweetness about it and one bag can last for several cups (don't tell Teapigs I told you) with very little drop off in flavour - just loop the little string round the cup handle and you are set for most of the day. Enjoy”

Liqourice and Peppermint rocks!!

“Tried a sample of this lovely warming tea at the Good Food Show and was hooked... bought some to take home and my partner (who really doesn't like liquorice) tried it and is hooked too. He can't believe how sweet it is and how unlike processed liquorice it is. This really is my fave tea!”

Sweet and refreshing.

* * * * * by • 23rd August 2009

“I was recommended this tea by my sister who is quite literally, addicted to it! I love Licorice and I love mint so I thought I would give it a whirl (whilst putting in me teapigs bulk order!)
Well I was not dissapointed! I was surprised at how sweet it was and how well it went with the very subtle mint undertones.
A really lovely cuppa and something to drink if you have the craving for something sweet but don`t want the calories!
The only very minor thing I would point out is that the mint is just a tad too subtle and could be done with being `cranked up a notch` to even out the taste. Other than that I really liked it!”

This tea is AMAZING!

* * * * * by • 14th August 2009

“I'm not usually a big fan of herbal teas, but this tea has such an amazing flavour. It's a delicious treat that somehow finds the perfect balance between "minty refreshing" and "sweet like candy" (but sweet in a *good* way). I can happily substitute drinking this for eating a more calorific dessert. I've been spoiled - I can never return to 'blah' herbal tea again!”

Interesting

Curious Combo but it works!

The best!!!!!!!!

* * * * * by • 14th March 2009

“This tea is simply fabulous!! Its my all time favourite tea pigs tea, i absolutely love the taste, first you are hit my the peppermint, which is very refreshing, then the liquorice tastes comes through, the two flavours match beautifully, and i can drink this tea anytime!! Morning, lunch, evening, its truly a very special blend!!!

I know this is a little cheeky, but maybe if this is the best seller of the month, you could offer 3 boxes for a special price??? And do this every month for whatever is the tea of the month? Just an idea, i know i would buy into it.

Thanks again, Claire x”

“So sweet, so refreshing. The blend is beautiful and it really helps when you're craving something sweet.”

Oh noooo a teapig I don't like...

* - - - - by • 28th February 2009

“I hate to say it but this tea didn't do it for me. It sounded wonderful and I can totally see why people love it but the two flavours were just too different for me. The mint was cool and refreshing but the extremely sweet taste after was too much of a contrast - my tastebuds were too confused to be delighted. I might try just infusing it for a few seconds rather than a few minutes but imagine I might be passing my box on to someone else. Don't let this put you off trying it if you think the combo would work for you!”

What a disappointment!

* * * - - by • 12th February 2009

“Did i get a bad batch or something?! In my opinion these flavours did not blend well at all. The initial peppermint flavour is admittedly quite pleasant but the liquorice which comes as the aftertaste is like a mouthfull of artificial sweetner, urgh!!. Two of my friends who also drank this felt the same. Sorry teapigs, we usually love your teas but not this one. 3 teapots is for the peppermint.”

Heyyy!!! This is GORGEOUS!

* * * * * by • 14th January 2009

“I was a bit skeptical about trying this because I hate straight peppermint tea (it makes me feel like I have an upset stomach - think it's because i associate it with milk of magnesium!) but I gave it a go anyway out of curiousity when I ordered my old favourites. I did my sister a cup too, who is not a fan of herbal tea. It is GORGEOUS! It tastes like soft, sweet black liquorice with a refreshing, cool kick. It is delicious and should make me feel guilty, it's like a dessert. Definitelyv a new favourite! MMMMM!”

Simply the best

* * * * * by • 10th January 2009

“I am TOTally hooked on this tea. It is the Rolls Royce of licorice and peppermint tea all in one bag! The freshing hit of peppermint to start with, followed by the deliciously sweet aftertaste of licorice is a treat everytime! This is the herbal tea of all teas. Thank you teapigs!”

this tea rocks...

* * * * * by • 15th November 2008

“This tea totally rocks... First you get the clean, cool refreshing taste of mint, and then, starting at the tip of your tongue, a lush, rich, rounded sweet taste of liquorice. Couldn't get the grin off my face on a cold November morning, and this from a person who hates winter! A total teapigs triumph me thinks. And the longer you let it infuse, the better and more intense it gets! Also still delicious cold. Wow. I love it.”

Amazingly delicious!
